Description
This bone handled ritual jar is inspired by Norse cosmology. Hand painted dragon and sigil with Amaco underglaze on top of an orange stain.
The bone handle was locally sourced from the farm I grew up on and had found during a walk. The handle is attached with copper wire.
This series of works is intentionally on the border of sculpture and pottery. While the pot is food safe with a liner glaze, the handle carries the weight of a ritual wares.
I have enjoyed creating these so much.
This piece is 6 x 6 inches round and 7 inches tall.
